These pictures showcase one of the great things about Colorado. It's the end of February and 55 degrees, but the sun is so intense it seems warmer. Jeanna and I took advantage of the great weather to take a little hike on Green Mountain. She cozied up to me in her wrap and I enjoyed an absolutely beautiful day.
As I looked south across the front range it tickles me that I can see the two small mountains that boarder Kim's neighborhood even though she lives about an hour away. From my vantage point the landscape looks rather barren between our two homes. The mountains jut up from a seemingly unbroken expanse of brown grass. But I know from having made the drive this week that this terrain is actually rolling and crisscrossed with gullies and scrub oak. Farm houses are sprinkled throughout and horses graze in the fields.
It's fascinating to me how nature often mirrors matters of the heart and mind. From far away it's easy to group people together- see them as all the same. But when you get closer you see the complexities that make each of us an individual, beautiful soul.
